Fremantle International

Sheila Hall Aguirre is EVP, Co-Production and Distribution, Fremantle International, overseeing the Latin America and the US Hispanic market. Since joining Fremantle in 2002, Aguirre has overseen the distribution strategy, set the negotiation timeline and closed agreements in Latin America, whilst building relationships with platforms in the region. Additionally, Aguirre identifies and collaborates with strategic partners whose creative vision is aligned with Fremantle to combine expertise and resources to develop and co-produce original content. In the past four years, she has brokered deals for hit Spanish language dramas La Jauria with Amazon and El Refugio and Senorita ‘89 with Lionsgate. She is also responsible for the licensing of Fremantle’s catalogue of formats, overseeing their adaptation into Latin America. She was responsible for introducing and brokering many of the company’s formats including Got Talent, Idols and The X Factor into the region.

Aguirre began her career in Univision’s corporate offices in New York and was later relocated to Miami to network operations. Working alongside Programming and Production, she was part of the team that created Univision’s first original productions. Her experience in content strategy spans three decades working with production companies such as Carsey-Werner, creators of popular sitcoms such as That ‘70s Show and Third Rock from the Sun, and Coral Pictures (RCTV).
