With 18 years’ experience in production, development, commissioning and senior leadership, Satmohan has an eye for unscripted content with domestic and global appeal. His commissions include ITV’s breakout entertainment hit The 1% Club, returning reality format Loaded In Paradise and awarding winning feature documentary The Football, His Wife and The Crash. Satmohan has a unique ability to spot, create, develop and deliver formats and content that not only draw (the nowadays elusive) mass prime time audience, but also perform commercially, all around the world.
In 2022 alone, Satmohan commissioned 11 new and 14 returning titles across ITV’s channel portfolio including ITV1, 2, 4, Be and streaming service ITVX, totalling more than 150 hours. Of those, Loaded in Paradise was selected as the first major
entertainment show to bolster the launch of ITVX and following strong engagement with younger audiences, it was recommissioned in April 2023.
Satmohan’s contribution to the broadcaster’s digital transformation plans and aptitude for engaging audiences on new platforms has also seen him appointed to the board of Metavision, an agency and studio that brings entertainment brands to the metaverse. backed by Studio 55, ITV Studios’ start-up incubator.
Recent original commission, The 1% Club, was named Best Entertainment Show of the year by Broadcast and Quiz format at The National TV Awards. It was ITV’s top quiz show of the decade in terms of its 16 - 34 year old audience share. It has gone on draw huge numbers in a further six territories Australia (Seven Network), France (France Televisions), Germany (Sat1), Spain (Atresmedia), The Netherlands (RTL) and Israel (Kan 11), with several recomissions.
In the factual entertainment genre, Satmohan has commissioned a range of popular documentaries, features, specialist factual and stripped reality programming including first premium factual feature documentary for ITVBe, The
Footballer, His Wife and The Crash which out-performed all new titles on channel and won Documentary of the year at The Broadcast Awards in 2023. Satmohan’s name is attached to some of the ITV’s most recognisable unscripted shows of
recent years from Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport to For The Love Of Dogs, The Weekender franchise to Monster Carp.
Satmohan’s passion for original content is matched by his drive to improve and sustain the industry-at-large, with a particular focus on diversity and inclusion.
In his quest to give back and make a difference, Satmohan has been Vice Chair of Together TV, a free to air channel owned by The Community Channel, a community benefit society aimed at creating positive social change for three years. He has also spearheaded the ITV’s Fresh Cuts initiative to support emerging black directors on screen as part of Black History Month.
