Melissa Grego is CEO of The Hollywood Radio & Television Society (HRTS), the leading membership association for networking, education and mentorship for all career levels of the TV and entertainment industry.
Upon HRTS’s 75th anniversary in 2022, Grego spearheaded the launch of the new standalone charitable organization, The HRTS Foundation, and serves as its Chairperson. The new org is dedicated to a diverse, equitable and inclusive business community. As part of the launch, she also mounted an annual Gala to benefit the HRTS Foundation, as well as the org’s first initiative, the HRTS Fellowship Program. Grego joined HRTS in 2017 after running her own content and event consulting shingle with a mission to foster inclusion in the TV industry.
Prior to that she was a writer, editor and journalist covering the TV business. Among her work in journalism, she was Editor-in-Chief of Broadcasting & Cable magazine and held staff positions at The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Her personal essays have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post and Shondaland, and she has provided expert commentary on "Access Hollywood," CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, Fox News and "Entertainment Tonight."
