Jonathan Verk is the founder and CEO of Social Department, an AI-powered platform built to help media companies turn existing content libraries into scalable, revenue-driving engines across social and digital platforms.
Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur and media executive with multiple successful exits. He previously founded coParenter, the world’s first AI-driven dispute resolution platform for parents navigating divorce, and Creative Departmint, a Web3 agency—both of which were acquired. Earlier in his career, he served as Executive Vice President at Shazam, helping scale the company prior to its acquisition by Apple and as Publisher of Boards Magazine, the leading publication serving the international advertising industry.
A former CEO of PromaxBDA (now GEMA), Jonathan has spent his career at the intersection of entertainment, marketing, and technology—working with networks, studios, streamers, FAST channels, and digital publishers to modernize how content is marketed, distributed, and monetized. His work focuses less on vanity metrics and more on real outcomes: audience growth, attribution, and revenue.
At Social Department, Jonathan leads the development of AI-driven systems that automate social workflows, surface high-value moments from large content libraries, and power always-on audience strategies for today’s fragmented viewing landscape. The platform is actively used by major broadcasters, studios, and streaming brands to ship faster, scale smarter, and unlock new value from content they already own.
Known for his pragmatic, execution-first perspective, Jonathan speaks frequently about deploying AI in the real world—what’s actually working, what isn’t, and how media organizations can adapt without losing creative integrity.
