Jin Woo Hwang is co-Founder, President and Executive Producer of Something Special. He is an award-winning global Format expert, producing more than 40 primetime television shows; developing 112 original Formats and has been a production consultant in 22 territories. Hwang was GM, Former Head of Formats & Content Development at CJ ENM Media Content Division. He is certified by the Korean Government as an industry Expert and is the advisory board member of FRAPA(Format Recognition and Protection Association), the global organization dedicated to the understanding and respect of original formats and their creators. As of December 2021, Hwang is the Chairman of the Korean Format Alliance. In 2018, he was awarded Prime-minister citation for his dedication to Korean content as industry pioneer. He is also an official member of the International Academy of Television and Jury of the International Emmy Awards. Hwang’s production and development credits include international rollouts of popular Korean formats such as Better Late Than Never, I Can See Your Voice, Battle in the Box, Still Alive and Korean adaptations of international formats such as Top Gear Korea, Korea’s Got Talent, Popstars to Operastars Korea, The Phone Korea
