Marco Giron serves as the Chief of Film and Entertainment
Mr. Giron is the chief executive overseeing the growth of the entertainment production industry. As Miami-Dade's Film Commissioner, he directs the Office of Film and Entertainment’s governmental interactions with some 200 production companies; numerous sound stages and recording studios; three Spanish-language production facilities; and a multitude of businesses supportive or adjacent to the motion picture, TV, video, digital and still photography industries. Mr. Giron represents Miami-Dade County in fostering strategic relationships and global alliances to further the Film Commission's mission of positioning the county as a top global destination for the Film and Entertainment industry.
Since his appointment in February 2022, he has led the economic recovery of the County’s creative industries. Under his leadership, television and film production has made a strong return. Aside from managing Miami-Dade’s Film Commission Office — which offers a one-stop permitting system for projects filmed in the county and its many municipalities — Giron’s office also oversees the use of the High Impact Film Fund Program. A multimillion-dollar film incentive program to lure large-scale film projects for the purpose of economic development.
Marco is a certified Protocol Officer trained at the Pentagon in Washington DC on diplomatic relations. He is an award-winning public administration professional with extensive communications, film, and entertainment industry credentials. Mr. Giron has received numerous awards and accolades and was recognized as “The Achiever” by Miami Today. He is also a former Talent Agency Director, responsible for negotiating contracts and managing several high-profile projects, brand development, talent acquisitions, and a large array of celebrity client portfolios in the entertainment industry.
With extensive senior government experience, he has served as a director and legislative advisor for two of Florida’s largest municipalities, the City of Miami, and the City of Doral. These significant roles in government public administration have garnered him a reputation in local government as a trusted and reliable advocate for the film and entertainment industry.
