Marie Leguizamo serves as Managing Director for Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, a division of Banijay Americas, home to some of the biggest brands in television in the United States and Latin America. Named as one of Imagen Foundation’s “Influential Latinos,” Leguizamo oversees the studio based in Mexico and Los Angeles and is focused on developing and producing original content in both English and Spanish broadcast, cable and streamers in the Mexican and U.S. Hispanic markets.
Since its launch in 2022, Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic is responsible for creating a production hub in Mexico City, producing the hit comedy series Last One Laughing for Prime Video in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. Most recently, the studio was instrumental in bringing reality dating format Temptation Island to Latin America, also for Prime Video, establishing a production hub for local versions in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina/Chile. Other series include season one of comedy series Jalas o te Rajas with Escorpion Dorado and Facudno for Prime Video.
Prior to joining Banijay Mexico and U.S. Hispanic, Leguizamo served as showrunner and Executive Producer on numerous top Spanish language series for the last decade including with sister company Endemol Shine Boomdog. Her credits include La Voz Kids (Telemundo), Pequeños Gigantes USA (Univision), Mira Quien Baila (Univision) and La Gran Supresa (Univision)
A multi-Emmy nominated producer, Leguizamo has produced unscripted television for nearly two decades, and her vision and concepts have led to record-breaking ratings and successes. She has been recognized twice by the International Emmy association with nominations for her work on La Voz Kids and she also garnered multiple Daytime Emmy nominations for Last One Laughing: Mexico.
