Steve Dickert is Vice President, Alternative Programming for Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS), a division of Universal Studio Group. In this role, he manages a slate of projects across unscripted genres, including formats, competition series and game shows.
Dickert works closely with talent and third-party producers to support, shape and deliver on their creative vision in all stages of development, from concept through execution. He spearheaded development of the recent NBC competition series, “Destination X,” the No. 1 new show of summer 2025 and NBC’s top alternative series launch on Peacock. Additionally, he helped develop the Emmy® Award-nominated “That’s My Jam,” hosted by Jimmy Fallon, “The Titan Games,” hosted by Dwayne Johnson, and the comedy competition series “Bring the Funny,” all for NBC.
Dickert started at UTAS in 2017 as a development producer working on formats and talent-based concepts for NBC. Prior to joining the studio ranks, he was a producer for a variety of unscripted series, including “The Amazing Race,” “The Apprentice,” “Fashion Star” and “The Contender.” He won an Emmy Award for his work on CNN’s “United Shades of America.”
